Once again, Pinotage has shown its diversity and all round appeal with six particularly appealing ‘pinks’ shortlisted in the inaugural Pinotage Rosé Competition, introduced by the Pinotage Association to benchmark and award exceptional wines over and above the single-varietal Pinotages and Cape Blends for which South Africa is famous.
Rosé is an exciting wine style with huge appeal, says Beyers Truter, chair of the Pinotage Association. Producers see great potential in the further growth of this category and are sure that the new competition will be even more fiercely contested in years to come.
