Absa Top 10 Pinotage Competition
This year we aim to announce the 20 finalists earlier to enable us to give more exposure time to the finalists. We also plan to have a transparent feedback system between the judging panel and the entrants. Showcasing roadshows are also planned across the country for the Top 10 winners.
Full details about the competition will be send soon.
Perold Absa Cape Blend Competition
The criteria for the Cape Blend competition are exactly the same as in previous years . (Minimum 30% and maximum 70% Pinotage in the blend). We are reviewing these criteria for future competitions and any suggestions can be emailed to firstname.lastname@example.org.
Full details about the competition will be send at a later stage.
Cape Wine 2018
The Pinotage Association will not have a designated stall at Cape Wine but we plan to create campaigns like the #CapeofPinotage drive during this period. These campaigns will aim to highlight all the Pinotage wines on display and to encourage Cape Wine visitors to drink/try Pinotage wines during their visit.
To start the Cape Wine week, the Association will host a Pinotage event on 11 September – “Pinotage with a View” – at Durbanville Hills. Details to be communicated at a later stage.
International Pinotage Day – 13 October (Always the 2nd Saturday in October)
This year we would like to create a detailed Pinotage Day information pack (site). This will highlight all the events and campaigns. This will also mean that producers, retailers and stakeholders will have to plan and communicate their events at an earlier stage than in previous years.
Wine Shows and events
We have created numerous Pinotage campaigns during Wine Shows and events to encourage producers to always show their Pinotage wines at these events. We plan to have a Pinotage presence at some of the following events: Pinotage & Biltong Festivals, Stellenbosch Wine Festival, Omi-Berg, Wacky Wine, The Wine Show(s), Winex, Cape Wine etc.
Please do not hesitate to contact us if you need any further information. We are looking forward to work together this year to take Pinotage to new heights.
